What is it?
A horizontal and vertical image flip plugin for Sony Vegas.
This plug-in is much faster than the horizontal and vertical flipping
functionality built-in to Sony Vegas. The Track Motion flipping in Vegas is
not optimized for the simple task of image flipping, and thus is quite slow.
This plug-in provides a way to flip the video image horizontally and/or
vertically while providing practically real-time render speeds for standard
definition (SD) footage. I have not tried this plugin on HD footage.
This is particularly useful for flipping source footage that was shot with a
35mm SLR lens adapter on a video camera. The image shot with the 35mm SLR lens
adapter will be vertically and horizontally flipped on tape, and will need to
be flipped again in Vegas or in some other software once you have the footage
on your editing system. Using this plugin, you can just apply it to a track,
or video event, or the entire project, and the video will be flipped in
real-time (for SD footage) on a reasonably fast computer. No extra step of
rendering the video to a new file just to flip the video is required.
Please note that for HD footage, you will need a very fast computer to even
display the source HD footage at a fast framrate, or will need to use a smaller
preview window in Vegas (and possibly Draft quailty) in order to preview your
video in near-real time speed.
